Wear it Pink – Supporting the fight against Breast Cancer

Last Friday 20th October, as part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Astle Paterson joined in the fight by participating in the nationwide Wear It Pink fundraiser.

50,000 women a year are diagnosed with the disease, and 11,500 will unfortunately die from it. We are proud to support the annual fundraiser, and do what we can to bring a cure for Breast Cancer closer.

Breast Cancer continues to tear families apart and end precious lives too early. Wear It Pink encourages people all around the country to wear pink and donate to Breast Cancer Now. The organisation, who put together what is one of the largest fundraisers in the UK, believe that if we all act now, by the year 2050 everyone diagnosed with the disease will live. We couldn’t be happier in doing our part for the cause, and took to the fundraising task wholeheartedly. In addition to us all wearing pink, the staff provided lots of cakes and we were able to raise a fantastic total of £150.

Breast Cancer Now estimate that in order to achieve the 2050 target, we’ll need to raise a total of £300 million for research in the next ten years. It might seem like a lot, but with the same enthusiasm that’s been shown this year it’s more than achievable. Astle Paterson will be getting involved again next year, doing our part and hopefully raising even more. Even if you missed out on the 20th it isn’t too late to donate, and you can do so here.
