Thank you for helping us raise over £3,600 for charities this year!

It has been another fantastic year of fundraising again for Astle Paterson. We are happy to announce that we have raised a total of £3,677 for a number of charities that are near and dear to our hearts, with more donations still to be tallied up!

Our team has been hard at work helping the fight against cancer, improving the day-to-day life of our older generation and supporting those in our local community who are living with incurable diseases. We are always proud to support these incredible charities who do so much for people in need both locally and beyond.

You can read some brief summaries of each of our charitable efforts for 2019 below.

Fifth annual MacMillan Coffee Morning

Back in September, we held our fifth MacMillan Coffee Morning, raising a fantastic £625 for MacMillan Cancer Support!

Astle Paterson staff channelled their inner Mary Berry and served up a feast of baked goods, leaving both us and our stomachs happy. We would like to thank everyone who took part and most likely got their hands dirty baking!

Try not to let your mouth water too much when you see the delectable treats that were on offer for the event.

Pretty in pink

For the sixth year in a row, our staff participated in Wear it Pink to raise funds for the fight against Breast Cancer. We ended up raising an impressive £171.02 to support Breast Cancer research.

The website is always open for donations, so if you missed the chance to contribute and can even donate £10, please donate as it will make a huge difference. You can see what your money will contribute towards on the donation page. Thank you again for your support!

MHA charity concert

We recently sponsored a local event for MHA‘s Burton & Uttoxeter Live at Home, a charity dedicated to helping older people live a better life. Compared by Louise B, the show featured performances from X Factor winner Sam Bailey and Marc Bolton.

We also held a raffle that was very popular and helped contribute to an incredible total of £1,681!

You can continue to donate to MHA to help provide those in later life with a better way of living.

Make Your Will Fortnight

Once again, we took part in Make Your Will Fortnight for St. Giles Hospice, who support people in the local community with incurable diseases such as cancer, motor neurone disease, heart failure, MS and respiratory disease.

In order to raise money, our lawyers would write someone’s will in return for a suggested minimum donation, of which 100% is used to fund care for local people and their families.

We managed to beat last year’s total and raise a whopping £1,200! Thank you so much for contributing to what is a very worthwhile cause.

Jolly Jumper Day

To get into the festive spirit, we have also held a Christmas jumper day that we have called Jolly Jumper Day to raise more money for St. Giles Hospice.

Burton Swans partnership

A couple of months ago we announced that in July 2020 we would be participating in the Burton Swans project, sponsoring one of 25 colourful swans that located throughout Burton upon Trent’s streets for 10 weeks.

Each swan will be designed by a different artist, while members of the public will be able to plot a route through the trail of swan sculptures with a mobile app, as well as being able to unlock different awards from the project sponsors! This will conclude with a ‘swan song’ event, and the swans will be auctioned off to raise money for Burton and District YMCA.

We look forward to raising money for a fantastic cause, which provides support to the homeless as well as providing practical and emotional support to give people the skills and confidence to build a brighter future.

Finally, we have probably said it enough, but we really appreciate the donations made and would like to say thank you to everyone who participated in our fundraising efforts for 2019.

We hope you can support our charity events throughout 2020 and beyond!
