Burton upon Trent is a community we love. That’s why we’re getting involved in the Staffordshire County Council campaign, Get Vocal About Local Burton. It’s an effort to get people in Burton supporting local businesses and helping to build the local economy. With Christmas on the horizon Burton awaits its eager shoppers, and we encourage all of you to go out and spend under the glow of the festive lights.
To reinforce our love of the community (and our staff’s love of shopping), we’ve compiled a list of our favourite places to shop in Burton. If these places can get our lawyers talking, then they must be good. Have a read, go out and spend.

Brigdens is our go-to for high-quality menswear in Burton. The traditional aesthetic doesn’t disappoint, with prim suits, jackets of tweed and leather, and stately modern coats adorning its broad walls. It’s a bit pricey, but when your flaunting Brigdens’ refined style on the streets of Burton you’ll know it’s money well spent.

Start & Tremayne is a small, family run business based on the High Street in Burton. It specialises in leather goods including handbags, suitcases wallets and purses. The quality is always incredibly good, and so it should be, since the business was established nearly 100 years ago! They have a great collection of gifts and accessories from well-known brands, so we always find ourselves browsing a little longer than is healthy.

“When we frame a picture or an object it is also helping to evoke an emotion, a memory or something that somehow brings joy and happiness or a keepsake to be cherished as years go by.”
That’s what Why Not Gallery, Burton’s custom picture framers, say about themselves. And we couldn’t agree more! As well as completely bespoke picture frames, Why Not has a range of accessories and houseplants to bring some life to your home. It’s one of the hidden gems in Burton shopping, and a unique service that could make for a wonderful gift.

When we’re shopping for gifts that need to be a little bit special, The Alphabet Gift Shop is Burton’s best. There’s something for every occasion, from jewellery to homeware, gifts for children, for him and for her. All with the option of a deft personalised touch. A name, an initial, or something even more special. Perhaps the best thing about the Alphabet gift shop is that you can show somebody you care without needing to break the bank. This shop is also a great meeting place for coffee or lunch.

Topping our list of Burton’s shopping gems is the sparklingly modern, always delicious restaurant and bar – The Dial. Complete with terrace and cocktail bar, the menu boasts some of the most mouth-watering dishes anywhere in Burton. And the real winner is the atmosphere. It caters for both casual groups, who can enjoy a cocktail or two on the terrace, and formal diners sitting in the charm of the main restaurant. When you’re out and about spending in Burton, make sure you stop at The Dial for a wonderfully crafted meal.
