Supporting Fundraiser of the Year

Astle Paterson were proud to be a part of this years’ Burton Mail Heroes Awards on 4th July 2018, sponsoring ‘The Fundraiser of the Year’ category.

We would like to once more issue a hearty “congratulations” to Brian Storer (pictured), who won the category for his work raising over £92,000 for charitable causes.

When his wife Helen passed away at the age of 46 after a 13-year battle with cancer, Brian chose to use his time and talents to help others in need. He has contributed to the children’s ward and cancer unit at Burton’s Queens Hospital, as well as the Ronald McDonald hospice.

“A fantastic town full of inspirational people”

The Burton Mail Heroes Awards aims to recognise people like Brian and his fellow nominees, who always go above and beyond – at work or in their personal lives. Angela Haywood and Jemma Purslow have likewise made incredible contributions towards helping others.

Jean Paterson of Astle Paterson said, “We were privileged to be asked by the Burton Mail Heroes Awards to sponsor such a worthwhile category. Without people like the winner of The Fundraiser of the Year category, Brain Storer, our town would not be the place it is. As Brian echoed on the night, this is a fantastic town with inspirational people.”

Astle Paterson is proud to be part of a town full of inspirational people like Brian, and we intend to continue to assist the local community and help recognise our Burtonians’ wonderful achievements in the future.
