Director & Solicitor: Head of Litigation & Dispute Resolution
Liam is a Commercial & Civil Litigation Solicitor specialising in Dispute Resolution, with particular expertise in Property Litigation, Commercial Contract Disputes, Landlord and Tenant disputes (residential and commercial), Debt Recovery, and Contentious Probate claims.
He acts for businesses, property owners, landlords, tenants, and individuals in complex disputes, providing clear, strategic and commercially focused advice from pre-action stage through to trial and appeal where required.
Liam has extensive experience using Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR), including without prejudice negotiations, settlement strategy, and formal mediation, to resolve disputes efficiently and cost-effectively. Where settlement is not possible, he has the technical litigation experience and tactical approach required to progress matters through the Court process.
He regularly advises clients on disputes proceeding through the County Court and High Court, including multi-track litigation, enforcement action, and complex contractual and property-related disputes.
In addition, he has experience in Arbitration and property-related land law matters within the First-tier Tribunal, including contentious property and boundary-related issues.
Liam qualified as a Solicitor in September 2007, achieving a Distinction in his postgraduate Legal Practice Course, and completed his training contract with Astle Paterson. He became a Director at Astle Paterson in 2011 following a successful period as an Assistant Solicitor.
