Sue Woodall, Solicitor and Head of Astle Paterson’s Conveyancing Department, comments on today’s press release from the Office for National Statistics which confirms that properties in the East Midlands and West Midlands are now worth more than pre-credit-crunch levels of late 2007 and early 2008.
The average house price in the East Midlands is currently £187,000 (up 7.6% from 2013) and in the West Midlands it is £198,000 (up 7.3% from 2013). Of note also is the fact that in July 2014, first-time buyers paid 13.5% higher on average than in those who bought a property for the first time in July 2013.
Sue stated, “At Astle Paterson there has been a recent significant increase in buying and selling houses following a steady increase over the past 2 years – and it does not look like the levels of transactions will fall away anytime soon.
I have over 35 years of legal experience and my team and I are well placed to ensure that your sale and/or purchase of your property will proceed in the most efficient manner.”
