Your Invitation to Astle Paterson’s Macmillan Coffee Morning on Friday 26th September 2014

At Astle Paterson we are pleased to announce that we are having a Macmillan Coffee Morning on Friday 26th September 2014 at our offices to which everyone is invited.

The request for willing volunteers in Astle Paterson to make cakes and other goodies has already been sent out.   With some fantastic bakers amongst the members of staff the Macmillan Coffee Morning at Clay House looks set to be a scrumptious occasion.

The Macmillan Coffee Morning is Macmillan’s biggest fundraising event where people across the UK hold the coffee morning to raise money for people living with cancer.

In 2013, 154,000 people took part in the coffee morning, raising a record £20 million.  Hopefully this year even more money will be raised to help make sure no one has to face cancer alone, from the moment they are diagnosed, through treatment and beyond.

The Coffee Morning will be a great excuse for the staff members at Astle Paterson, their clients and the public to get together for coffee and cake, and raise money for the good cause.

To put the donations into perspective, £25 pays for a Macmillan nurse to support a family affected by cancer for one hour, £61 pays for 4 hours for a Macmillan benefits adviser to help someone struggling with the costs of cancer, £278 could keep a Macmillan information and support centre stocked for a month with all the resources it needs to support people affected by cancer and £370 could pay for the hire of a room for a year so a self-help and support group could hold regular meetings.

Please come along to Astle Paterson’s Macmillan Coffee Morning at Clay House, 5 Horninglow Street, Burton upon Trent, Staffordshire on Friday 26th September 2014 from 10:30am onwards to have a slice of cake, a nice bun or just a warming cup of coffee and support this worthwhile cause.
